I’ve seen this series on my Facebook feed; but didn’t get to download it immediately until my sister raved about how great it is. So I downloaded the whole season and watched it with my husband (My husband! 😁 We just got married. Sorry.) When I watched the first episode, my reaction was like, “Huh?”. If my sister didn’t give me some background, I would be clueless. I was thinking, “What’s happening? What’s the story about?” It wouldn’t give you any idea at all. It didn’t even give me enough curiosity to watch the next episode and find out what’s happening. I still watched a few more episodes just in case I missed something with the first one. Maybe it would get better, right? Wrong.
I don’t know about most of you but I didn’t really like it. My husband agreed with me on this one (which was rare). I give it 2 out of 5 stars. Rotten Tomatoes gave it 90% and IMDB gave it 9 out of 10, I think. I was questioning myself why I didn’t like it because almost everybody did. Well, to each his own. I finished the whole thing just for the heck of it. There are still some elements that I liked about the series:
So if you’re still interested, the story is about “The Upside Down”. It’s like a parallel universe. And the gate to this parallel universe was opened by Eleven because of her powers. Will (one of the kids) got trapped in The Upside Down and the story revolved on how to save Will (nobody really bothered on finding the other teenage girl). The Upside Down is a dark, scary place with monsters who feed on those unfortunate humans trapped inside. If it weren’t for those amusing kids who were very determined to save their friend Will, I wouldn’t bother to finish the series. |
